Definition

Floor price.

Also called: Bid floor, Price floor

The minimum price an impression must clear to be sold — a clearing threshold, not a quality filter.

Floors (or bid floors) set the lowest acceptable bid for an ad opportunity. Raising a floor filters out cheaper demand, which raises observed eCPM and lowers fill; lowering it does the reverse.

Whether a floor change helped depends on total value, not on either metric alone: compare revenue per eligible opportunity before and after, by geo and placement. Floors that are too aggressive turn bids that would have paid into no-fills.
