Definition

Payer conversion.

Also called: Payer rate, Conversion to payer

The share of users who make at least one purchase in a period or cohort — the breadth side of IAP revenue.

Formula Payer conversion = Paying users ÷ Active (or cohort) users

Payer conversion (or payer rate) answers “how many pay?”, while ARPPU answers “how much do they pay?”. Together they give IAP ARPU.

It is sensitive to offer timing, first-purchase design (such as starter packs), price points and store friction. It also varies by platform and country, so blended conversion can move because the audience mix changed rather than because anything in the game did.
