Definition

Creative fatigue.

The decline in a creative’s performance as the same audience sees it repeatedly — rising CPI or falling conversion over time.

Ad creatives wear out: click-through and install rates fall as an audience has already seen or ignored them. Teams manage this with a steady cadence of new variants and concepts.

Not every performance decline is fatigue. Audience exhaustion (the campaign has reached the responsive users), seasonality and auction competition look similar. And a creative that scales fast can also concentrate spend and change cohort quality. Each new creative brief should say what the last one taught.
