LiveOps.

Also called: Live operations, Live ops

Live operations: the ongoing events, offers, content drops and tuning that keep a live game engaging after launch.

LiveOps turns a released game into a service — limited-time events, seasons, tournaments, offers and balance changes run on a calendar. Done well, it amplifies a healthy core loop and gives players reasons to return.

The risk is event debt: when events stop amplifying the core and start replacing it, engagement depends on an ever-faster content treadmill, and fatigue sets in.
