Organic uplift.

Also called: Organic lift, Halo effect, Spillover

The extra organic installs caused by paid activity — via store rankings, search and word of mouth — on top of baseline organic demand.

Paid spend can raise chart and search visibility, which in turn drives installs that are attributed as organic. Estimating that uplift matters because it changes the true return on spend.

It is difficult to measure precisely. The most reliable approaches are controlled experiments: pausing or varying spend by geo and observing organic changes. It can also run in reverse, when paid campaigns capture users who would have installed organically — cannibalizing organic demand.
